With a career spanning over four decades, Manuel is an accomplished and versatile bass player who has performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages. His journey as a musician has taken him across continents, from the USA to Europe, Africa, and Brazil, where he has played alongside legendary artists such as Raul Indipwo, Bonga, Waldemar Bastos, Cesária Évora, Mariza, Carlos Burity, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Martinho da Vila, and Abel Duere.


His dynamic bass lines have been heard at major international festivals, captivating audiences with his deep groove and impeccable technique.


Manuel's expertise extends beyond performance; he is also a composer, songwriter, music producer, and session musician, seamlessly blending influences from Afrobeat, reggae, jazz, funk, and traditional Lusophone sounds. As a member of groups like Orchestra River Niger, Vibrant, and Exodus, he has demonstrated his ability to adapt to diverse musical styles.


His contributions to the Brazilian music scene include appearances on iconic TV programs such as Globo D’Ouro, Jô Soares, Xuxa, and Angélica. He has also performed at the legendary Salvador Bahia Carnival, playing in the electric trio "Laranja Mecânica" and recording an LP for CBS in Rio de Janeiro.


Holding a Higher National Diploma in Music Production & Development, Manuel is also a skilled sound engineer, bringing a producer's ear to every project he touches. His dedication to musical excellence, adaptability, and passion for innovation continue to define his career, making him a cornerstone of every musical ensemble he joins.
